| Dr. Nicholas J. Spirtos has dedicated his professional life to the diagnosis and treatment of fertility disorders. The first Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist in the city of Akron, and one of approximately 450 in the United States, Dr. Spirtos has undergone extensive specialized training in this field. An Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Dr. Spirtos is one of the most experienced specialists in In-vitro Fertilization in the nation and has authored numerous publications on the subject of infertility and gynecology. |

| Dr. Spirtos was formerly the Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and In-Vitro Fertilization/Embryo Transfer at Akron City Hospital, where he is still currently affiliated. He is past president of the Akron Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and is a member of several other professional societies where he frequently lectures and gives scientific presentations on subjects related to fertility disorders. | |||||||||
Welcome to our staff Embryologist, Ms. Kelly Athayde !!! Kelly Athayde was the Supervisor of Andrology Laboratory & Reproductive Tissue Bank and Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) training Program of the Cleveland Clinic from Augustg 2006 to October 2008. She earned a Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2006; Kelly has 9 years of experience in the field. She worked as the Section Coordinator of Andrology Laboratory and Sperm Bank in the Department or Urology at the University of Sao Paulo and supervised the In-vitro Fertilization Laboratory in the Center for Human Reproduction, Department of Urology/Gynecology, University of Sao Paulo. As an inspector and consultant in the field of Assisted Reproductive Medicine, she has visited many laboratories both nationally and internationally. Recently, she has joined Dr. Nicholas Spirtos' team at The Northeastern Ohio Fertility Center where she is in charge of the IVF laboratory. |
