| The methods of treatment available through the Northeastern Ohio Fertility Center include laser laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and microsurgery. In-vitro fertilization and embryo and oocyte (egg donation) programs are performed within the Fertility Center itself, and have met with great success. We have also been extremely successful utilizing ovulation induction agents (drug therapies) such as Clomiphene citrate, Letrozole, Human Menopausal Gonadotropins, and Lupron with partner and/or donor insemination. | ||||||||||||||||

| Our Fertility Center is equipped with a complete andrology (male factor infertilty) and endocrinology (hormone) laboratory staffed by highly trained technologists. These laboratories are capable of handling sophisticated testing and analyses associated with reproductive disorders. Dr. Spirtos or a covering physician is also available seven days a week to perform ultrasound examinations whenever necessary. |

SURGICAL PROCEDURES
The Northeastern Ohio Fertility Center in now offering embryo biospy and preimplantation genetic diagnosis/PGD. This new technology requires in-vitro fertilization to produce eight cell embryos that undergo subsequent biospsy and genetic testing before embryo transfer. Apparently normal genetic embryos are thereby transferred to the uterus hoping to increase the implantation rate; decreasing the miscarriage rate by minimizing abnormal embryos; and ultimately, increasing the take home baby rate. This technology is highly successful, but still carries a 5-10% risk of inaccurate results. The accuracy rate, however, is still 90-95%. Recent research has shown that 35-65% of all eggs/oocytes are abnormal and that up to 80% of all human embryos are NOT IMPLANTABLE. Our first 5 couples that utilized this technology achieved pregnancy successfully and are currently still pregnant and doing very well (one of these individuals was age 41 and a single male embryo was transferred successully). Embryo biopsy and PGD can also be utilized for gender selection/family balancing in those couples who wish to achieve pregnancy with either a male or female embryo. Please, see the attached video regarding embryo biopsy on our website. We would be more than happy to discuss in-vitro fertilization and embryo biopsy/PGD at anytime. Feel free to make an appointment with your partner at your earliest convenience. At that time, we will discuss the details and financial obligations of this endeavor. There is a lengthy consent form for in-vitro fertilization, cryopreservation, embryo biopsy and PGD that you will need to read and sign. We are all very excited about this new technology now available at the Northeastern Ohio Fertility Center.
