Through technologically advanced testing, treatment, therapy and surgical intervention, we are able to help many couples turn their dreams of parenthood into reality.

TOTAL CARE FOR FERTILITY DISORDERS
There are many reasons for couples to be infertile. A third of all infertility cases stem from problems with woman, another third from the man, about 25 percent involve problems with both partners, and only a small percentage remain unexplained. The most common causes of infertility include abnormalities of semen in the male partner and abnormalities of the vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries in the female partner.

The Northeastern Ohio Fertility Center was designed to address and treat all reproductive disorders. Our team brings together over 25 years of experience in the successful performance of assisted reproductive technologies. In an atmosphere of warmth and comfort, we have helped thousands of couples become parents. Our caring staff utilizes the latest technology available to provide our patients with the most comprehensive and sophisticated medical treatment for fertility disorders.

YOUR FIRST VISIT
The first step in treating infertility is to determine the cause so that treatment can begin as soon as possible. A complete medical questionaire will be mailed to you or you can download one from the website. We ask that it be completed and returned to the Center prior to your first appointment. Please mail any additional records you may have from your previous medical care so that we can review your case before your initial consultation.

At your first visit you and your partner will be asked to undergo a complete history and physical examination that may include laboratory testing. A semen sample may be requested for analysis either at this initial visit or scheduled at a later date. Soon thereafter, an accurate diagnosis will be made of your individual fertility disorder. A variety of appropriate therapeutic options will be offered in the hope that we can help you achieve pregnancy in a cost-and time-effective manner.

The road to achieving pregnancy can be a rocky one. Very often the pursuit of parenthood becomes all-consuming, and difficult to handle alone. We understand the emotional ups and downs you'll be experiencing and will refer you, if necessay and with your approval, to a psychologist who specializes in providing support to infertile couples. We also recommend that our patients take advantage of peer support groups and will be happy to provide you with information on these organizations.

SURROGACY

AT THE NORTHEASTERN OHIO FERTILITY CENTER

For many infertile individuals/couples, surrogacy is the only femaining option to help complete the family unit. Surrogacy is an emotional and financially difficult means to achieve parenthood. The Northeastern Ohio Fertility Center provides a comprehensive support team of attorneys and counselors along with our experienced embryologist, Ms. Kelly Athayde and our physician with over 25 years experience in assisted reproductive technologies. Dr. Nicholas J. Spirtos will provide the needed services in a compassionate and cost effective manner.

Identifying an appropriate surrogate mother who is compatible with the recipient individual/couple is by no means, an easy endeavor. We encourage the recipient/couple to help identify their own surrogate. This reduces much of the stress and finanical burden of surrogacy.

Once the surrogate is accepted, appropriately screened, and contracts completed, the process of synchronization begins. In most scenarios, this endeavor culminates in oocyte retrieval, oocyte fertilization and embryo transfer into the hormonally prepared surrogate. Hopefully, a succesful pregnancy is documented two weeks after embyro transfer.

If you are interested in surrogate motherhood or becoming an egg donor please contact the Northeastern Ohio Fertility Center to learn more about our programs.
